the Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce

The Driving Force Behind GAAST

The Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce (GAAST) was conceived in response to the significant challenges and changes the aviation and aerospace sectors have faced in recent years. The impetus for GAAST's formation came from a critical need identified during the global pandemic, which saw the aviation workforce contract by approximately 43%, equating to a loss of 4.8 million jobs worldwide. The UK Department for Transport, Airports Council International, IATA, and ICCAIA coalesced to form GAAST.
